I sizzle and squirm in samsara’s blaze.
The oil is hot — these trials, these tears,
A seasoning mix of hopes and fears.
She stirs with grace, yet fierce and wild,
The Mother watches Her half-cooked child.
“Not yet,” She says, “You’re still too raw—
Too soft with pride, too full of flaw.”
Each bubble bursts a lesson learned,
Each scorch a wound where ego burned.
Until at last, with crust grown tough,
She lifts me out — firm, wise, and enough.
And on Her plate of cosmic delight,
She serves me whole, golden and right.
Not for taste, nor show, nor fame,
But as a soul now true to its name.
-
Kali as the Fryer: She represents Time (Kala) and destruction of ego. Frying isn’t punishment—it’s purification. She “cooks” us until we’re strong, grounded, and flavorful in character.
-
Hot Oil as Experience: Perfect metaphor for life’s trials. Just like oil brings out the taste of a vada, life’s challenges bring out our inner strength and clarity—if we endure without breaking.
-
“Fit to be served”: This line is profound. It implies spiritual ripeness—when a soul has matured enough through karma to offer itself back to the Divine or serve others with wisdom.
